When starting a project i often look on the designsponge blog to help with innovative ideas and to see what is new in terms of pattern design and textile crafts. The card and gift wrap area of textiles is particularily influencial to me as i love using the paper medium. Throughout most of my projects i have used paper as the main material. Therefore claire cole, jessie chorley and wallpaper designers are the most inspirational artists.
I really like the idea of collecting old vintage materials, papers, books and using them within my work as mediums. Jessie chorley uses this technique throughout her work. she uses old photos and old treasures which captures memories and the past. i really like this concept and continually use it within my own work. Charity Shops and old boutiques are also really inspirational for me as i love old objects and somehow using the imagery within my work.
