helloo!
My shop report is actually really delayed, i apologise for that, i did it before christmas so some of the stuff has most probably changed...anyway, my favouritest shop in the victoria quarter (after a good look round) was this one called 'arrogant cat'. ooh it was just so nice! inside it was all black and gold, and the pattern of cats was all over the walls, and it had gold poles for decoration too...was overall very sophisticated. Getting onto the clothes, i found that the shapes and detail were unique and interesting, my favourite in particular was a short purple prom dress-quite stiff material, so it held its shape well..simple but just really well made. And it was reduced!! bargain. What i also noticed was that a lot of the material was very elaborate and luxurious, i.e, lace, chintzy sort of shiny and colourful etc. i loved it as you wouldn't find this sort of thing on the high street.
As for the books, there was one that i thought was really interesting, it was a really plain book, just white pages - but on each page was one black shape...all different shapes and sizes, and never in the same place on the page. There was no explanation, so you were left to your own imagination to decipher what the black shapes were all about. which is good because it makes you think. But then kind of irratating as you never find out the answer! However, John Mcdowell then told us that the pages were originally from magazines/newspapers, and that the black shapes were actually parts of the pages that had been covered up/edited out due to being too explicit! I just liked how it made you guess and imagine before you found out, and then when you did it was really satisfying!
