Claudine Hellmuth- artist report

Although i dont have a favourite artist, one artist who i do like a lot is the artist Claudine Hellmuth.
when i was doing my a-levels i loved her and based quite a bit ot my textile work on her. She is a mixed media artists and uses photographs, papers and textiles to create whimsical collages .i love the way she uses old fashioned photographs from the 1950's and ads them to her own drawings or collages of peoples bodies. she also uses poems and cut outs from magazine articles to compliment her drwaings. I think her work looks really nice when its done in textiles using material. Her work remids me of the cartoon Anna Annaconda which was reli good and quite kitsch.- allison pilling
