5 images from PPD file, By Victoria Perriss

Image 1) Piece of wrapping paper by Paperchase, I really like this piece as it is in similar style of the way that I like to work. I think the image is good because it had such a dark background and the images have bright colours placed just behind them to highlight them in a way.

Image 2) I really love this image by Timorous Beasties, I think the composition works really well and although the work I seem to usually like is big and bold, this is completely different, this image has lots of really intricate details that have repeated throughout the design, then they pattern has been layered with a white pattern over the top. I think that this works really well and makes the image really interesting.

Image 3) Linda Florence is one of my favourite designers, I love her use of foils on her wall coverings, she uses other materials as well to make her pieces more 3D based. Some of her designs have been wall coverings that have led into floor coverings as well, the reason that I love this piece is, the colours, I’m a big fan of green and blues and I just think that the tones of this piece with the pattern are amazing. The design is simple yet when in repeat looks so effective.

Image 4) Rob Ryan: I really like this piece by Rob Ryan, I like the simplicity of the print and the fact that there is always text in his work makes it very obviously his. I really like the colours on the white back ground giving it a childlike appearance, then when you read the words of the text it is something very different.

Image 5) I really like this piece from Paperchase, the design is simple and for some reason I’m drawn to birdcages in designs, I think the style of drawing that the designer has used is really effective. I like how the colours are repeated randomly and the image has no specific way to be displayed as the images go a range of different ways throughout the piece.
