Shop Windows in Leeds

I find it interesting that the high street shop windows mirror the effects of the "credit crunch", all the topshops, miss selfridges,H&M's etc have sale signs filling the windows instead of promoting the latest seasons looks, which usuallly at this time of year is the priority!
Though i found a different story in the Victoria Quarter, it was business as usual, no 7o% sale signs in Vivienne Westwood or Paul Smiths window, instead a small sale area was located somewhere at the back of the store, behind the latest collection. Though i realise that they are catering for different markets, and that the highstreet stores will be hit harder by the lack of spending, i feel that bombarding customers with ugly and unorganised sales is not the way to sell their goods, browsing round places like Harvey Nichols and Aqua Couture made me feel more educated in this years styles as well as a bit more classy!! I found that the windows in the 'Designer area', with their cutting edge, sleek set ups were more appealing and made me want to go in more...but i couldn't afford anything if i went in anyway!
