I enjoyed the book talk, I think looking at professional artists books really puts into perspective how professional we can be as students. It's pretty much set into my brain that me, as an 18 year old, can't make work to the standard of a well developed 40 year old artist, but I think I can defiantly have a go! The books that we looked at in the book talk I found very conceptual which is not the way I imagine most printed textile peoples books to be like. I for one come from fine art and do not have a concept.
My favourite book out of the ones we saw was the set of two books showing the black, solid shapes that are cover ups from old rude magazines and books etc. My opinion changed so dramatically before I knew the concept, I actually thought the book was a load of rubbish! The view of what you actually see changes completely, I started wondering what it was covering up and what the rest of the image was. I also really liked the idea that there was two of them in the set.
