The book tour at Vernon street was really helpful for thinking about layouts to use for my own artist book.
I especially liked Joan Lyons 25 years book, it is about a teacher that had her purse took from her bag only to have it returned back to her 25 years later by someone working in the vent system. I think its amazing how the purse has a journey that lasted all this time, the purse was empty of money but all her other possesions were still there, its a really nice idea to describe this as her feelings must have been really mixed when they gave it back, on one hand happy to have it back and look in it after all that time, even though it was probably forgotten about., and the other hand the anger that she must have felt as someone too their time to put her purse in such an unusual place.
the books were all really unusual and some quite hard to understand the techniques used seem easier to achieve now ive seen the books and had the book binding workshop and im looking forward to making one now.
